Casting Spells

A witches alter

They say energy doesn't lie - and I am inclined to agree! So where does a lie begin and end?

Language is the gateway to the world of possibility. It can be used to heal hurts, free minds, strengthen self worth, share love, bring ideas to life, boost confidence. It can also be used to manipulate, cause pain, create limits, tear down confidence, self worth and joy.

Perhaps the most common language that humans use is words. What we say, creates a vibration that ripples out into the world and creates change. What it actually changes will largely depend on the words you use and the energy with which you say them. Words are powerful; when put together with intentions and/or actions, they become spells (spelling).

When you really deep it - words is how we get what we want (or don't want). We simply speak it into existence (or into the distance). For example - you walk into a coffee shop and you ask for an oat milk cappuccino - an oat milk cappuccino will appear. Yes its not as simple as say it and it will appear. You can't ask a tree for a cappuccino and expect one to appear thats just fucking wild.

Life experience generally teaches us where to use the right words to get what we want and where not to use certain words to avoid getting something we don't want or losing something that we have.

We also try to create other peoples perceptions of us using words. Declaring to others what we do like and don't like, telling stories of things we experienced, things we survived and our big plans for the future.

The things we say - give people an idea of who we think we are. Our actions show people who we really are. How people feel around us, is the impact that we have on them.

With all this in mind it is of great importance then to listen to the words that people say to you and be careful what you choose to take in as truth.

Not only that but listen very closely to yourself when you talk. We all are a danger to ourselves when being heard. It is actually quite vulnerable to talk because it reveals things about you to those who know how to listen between the lines. What you say and what it means are two different things and there are people out there who can take what you say and use it as a way of manipulating you.

When people know how you work, they can also know how to work you.

Many of us talk very fast under the assumption that the people we are talking to will interpret what we say in the exact way that we mean it. The thing is - a lot can happen between your thoughts developing, the words leaving your lips, the listener receiving the sounds and then processing the sounds into their own thoughts.

This is why communication is such an art, a dance, a performance. When someone is talking and you are hearing it, you are under their spell at that very moment (unless you are aware enough to control this). This can be beneficial in many situations and it can be dangerous in many too. We must respect words for what they are: bundles of vibrations wrapped around invisible intentions. It is important to be careful what you listen to and even more important to understand the intentions of the person speaking!

All of us have been, or will be guilty of taking words personally that were not meant as an attack and all of us will have at some point said something a little unkind and then called it a joke when someones feelings got hurt. What goes on inside of us creates an energy and that energy cannot lie. Thats why intentions are so important when casting spells or simply just talking. If your inside world doesn't match up to what is happening in the world around you, people can sense it - everybody knows when someone is lying to them. It's not always useful to call someone out on their lies as it is a deeply personal thing people do to, ultimately, protect themselves. The problem with lying of course, is that it creates mistrust and suspicion which then puts our nervous system on high alert because we can sense danger - we feel that energy of dishonesty but we cannot actually see the truth because it has ben hidden with words.

This is in large what put me on this path of learning to understand words rather than just how to say them. I started to notice that some times in life I would say things with a loving intention however it would be taken in a negative way. I also experienced it the other way around. I couldn't understand why; until I understood that when we hear words or we have any kind of sensory experience - we can only interpret these senses through our own life experiences and value systems.

This is also why you cannot tell someone what something tastes like, because that sensory experience is a personal experience and is unique to each individual. You can only explain how the taste makes you feel/what it makes you think of but you cannot tell someone how something tastes. In this same way, you cannot tell someone what you are saying. They have to hear it and how they hear it is unique to them. Equally someone else cannot tell you what you are saying - they can tell you what they heard - how that made them feel and what they think about it, but they cannot tell you what you are saying. It's up to us to ensure that our words, intentions and actions are aligned if we want to be proficient at casting spells.

Energy doesn't lie and the universe is literal - if you ask (honestly and whole heartedly) you will receive. So be careful what you wish for.

Abracadabra - And so it is!

Stay blessed,

Amy
